Just a Little About Us...

In 1993, our first baby was born and we were seeking a gentle, family pet able to keep up with an active family. We were after a well-mannered, easily trained, "family dog," and a pet that would give us lots of affection, not be too terribly hard to groom, and be basically vet-free. After lots of research and fond memories of Kenny's childhood dog "Lobo" (a big Black English male Lab), we decided to get a virtual clone of Lobo; Romeo, our lover boy, was our first dog. Because of Romeo's wonderful nature and stunning good looks, we became addicted, and we hold him responsible for forming our kennel of the many English Labradors we have today. We strive to provide families with the same type of Labradors: good looking, easily trained, well-mannered, with nice temperaments, healthy Labrador puppies, and free of genetic defects. We also offer training on all of our dogs and puppies: Mannered and fully trained Labrador puppies; Or simply house-broken, potty trained puppies.

Susana Labradors has been raising Labrador Retrievers for the past 12 years.  We have been breeding our beautiful English Labradors for the past 10 years.  We own, breed, train and raise yellow and black labs, our colors range to the naked eye in fox red Labrador puppies, white Labrador puppies, yellow Labrador puppies, English cream Labrador puppies and black Labrador puppies.  We have puppies from time to time for approved families looking for a calm tempered Labrador puppy to accept as a member of their family.  We raise our Labrador puppies here at our ranch in Simi Valley, California.  Southern California has the nicest weather.  We have sunshine 12 months out of the year.  We are located 45 minutes N W of Los Angeles and LAX (Los Angeles International airport) .  We can ship any dog or puppy to a major airport closest to you.  We are just outside of Los Angeles County located in Ventura County.  We came up with our “Susana” kennel name as we began our kennel witnessing a breath taking view of the Santa Susana Pass.  We have since moved onto a nice piece of property; well needed for raising and properly exercising our Susana Labradors.  We are still located in Santa Susana, Simi Valley.  Thus:  Susana Labradors.  We have a coastal breeze around 3:00 P.M. so all of our doggies stay California cool.   All Labrador pups leave here with AKC (American Kennel Club) registration.  The parents and breeding team live here with us and have met all the health checks necessary to prevent hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia.  All OFA (orthopedic foundation for animals) and eye certifications (CERF) have all been met.  While we know that nothing is ever 100% preventable, all of our Labrador adults are carefully screened before breeding and we will not breed any dog that has a negative reading. 

We believe in creating better dogs, not just more of.  We stand behind our Labrador puppy’s and have a great reputation and want to keep it that way.  We guarantee our lab puppies for several years and educate you on how to train and care for them properly.  We offer house training, crate training, and basic obedience training on any of our Labrador puppies.  This is an extra service that we have found to be very popular especially with our dual income families.  Or family’s that want to bring in a well mannered junior dog, which won’t knock over the kids in excitement.  We believe that training is the key to owning a Labrador and it takes a lot of time and patience.  Our consistent regiment and firm but loving tactics seem to prove that our Labrador puppies and young adults are fast learners, and they enjoy the boundaries we set for them.  It is a real pleasure to buy a Labrador puppy already house broken and obedience trained.  They have manners, come when they are called, and do a host of heartwarming tricks.  Our breeding Labrador retrievers are of champion lines, and most of our dogs all hold International titles.  We always say “Good labs aren’t cheap and cheap labs aren’t good.”  One should know what they are getting into before they sign the dotted line. 

  Previously, we have shown many dogs throughout the years of raising and training Labrador Retrievers. We have been involved in many AKC events, campaigned our dogs all over the united states with show handlers and have had a lot of fun in the international all breed shows ourselves, out of Belgium. We have titled 14 Labradors of our own in these shows, all of which my current breeding stock has come from. While we are no longer involved or active in showing, the puppy or dog you purchase has come out of one or more of our foundation dogs which holds a title in the ring. these stunning sons and daughters are here with us today and have taken over the breeding program and their show parents and grandparents we are responsible for. We are breeding third generation "Susana Labradors". Our Labrador retrievers are of quality, so they are not cheap, or inexpensive.  You will save hundreds and thousands of dollars in the long run, buying a quality dog from a reputable breeder with nicer blood lines.  Hip surgeries are very costly and hard on the animal.  We prevent this from the very beginning by using supplements in the food, and easy gentle play on our breeding Labrador adults, to prevent hip and elbow issues that the breed seems to be indicative of.  I take better care of my labs; we do this full time, and have a host of qualified technicians, on staff to help us provide the ultimate care for our Labrador retrievers.  We do all the health checks necessary to prevent ailments on these wonderful innocent Labrador puppies. As mentioned we stand behind our puppies and my puppy buyers with generous guarantees.
